One of my favorite things to do in the spring time is attend the Coalition for Animals of Greater New Bedford's Annual Pet Fest and Walk for Animals. It takes place every May at Buttonwood Park in New Bedford and it's always a fantastic event.
This year's event marks the 13th year of its existence -- way to go Coalition for Animals!
It will be held on Sunday, May 20th from 11am until 3pm, with plenty of events and vendors attending to keep you and your dog busy all afternoon!
Registration takes place from 11am until noon. There is a $10 registration fee/donation and the 2-mile walk kicks off at noon. It's important to note though that completing the entire walk, or even any of the walk is not necessary. There are shorter routes if your pooch is older or if it's an especially warm day too.
The New Bedford Police K-9 unit will showcase a demo of their skills, the Animal Rescue League of Boston will do a rescue demo and countless vendors, rescue groups and shelters from across Massachusetts will be on hand.
Prizes are always awarded for the highest amount in fundraising, so start counting those pennies!
Gadget and I hope to see you there!
